The first one is done! And beautiful. I’m so excited by it =] And yes, as you can see, the needles are prepped for the next one. I absolutely hate knitting that first row on a sock. It is tedious and slightly painful but always worth it. This sock pattern was tricky too. It came in a bunch of different sizes but the two that were important to me were Women’s Small and Women’s Large. Women’s small asked for a cast on of 60 stitches and a Women’s large asked for 72 stitches. Why is there such a large gap?! All the other socks I have made for myself I have used 64 stitches. So, I decided to go with 60 stitches and hope that it worked. Thank God it did because it if hadn’t, it might have been an occasion for real tears. Therefore, this sock is most definitely the right way to start a new year.
So, funny story. I made those gray slippers awhile ago for Clare. I guessed at her shoe size and was pretty sure I couldn’t be wrong. But, o, I was. Thus resulting in myself having to create another pair of slippers which are currently drying in the basement after their rough and tumble time in the washer while felting. Note to self: Always ask shoe size, don’t assume it.
The Stock family has successfully survived a bout of whatever 24 hour thing was floating around Pittsburgh. The only thing is that there is an excess of LifeSaver mints in the house which isn’t really a problem at all.
Best wishes for a happy new year. Don’t forget, anything can be started over again and in the right direction.
Happy New Year =]
Your socks are SO pretty Connie! I love your blog so much and you’re so good at knitting! 😉
Colleen! Your blog is cool, I love looking at pictures of knitting. ^_^ Those socks are going to be epic. I started a pair of toe-up ones on dpns… it’s crazy, but we’ll see how they turn out. And yay Charlie Brown!
btw, what was your Ravelry screen name again? I tried looking up the one I thought you said, but unless you are from Missouri, that wasn’t you. 😛
Happy New Year! ❤
