Happy December 1st! In honor of it being December, it has decided to snow =]
Every once in a while, you see little phrases that your parents might say in real life. What I saw today was the phrase “You can’t please everyone.” This was well demonstrated for me in my Physics class today. My final for Physics is next Friday, and on Monday we discussed options for the final. Many students were pushing for a take home; however, all I have ever heard of this teacher’s take home tests are that they are extremely hard. Therefore, I had a question for him, and, in his response back, he asked me what I preferred, in class or take home final. I told him that I would prefer in class and left it at that.
Today, he announced that part of the final would be take home and that part would be the multiple choice part and the problems would be done during the scheduled final time. That is fine; you win some and you lose some, I didn’t mind at all. However, people were whining left and right. On Monday, people had asked for either the multiple choice or the problems to be take home. Then, when they were told they were getting the multiple choice for the take home part, they complained that they wanted the problems. And this is where the lovely illustration of “You can’t please everyone all the time” was shown.
During all this discussion about the final, I knitted and knitted. It might have been the only thing that kept me from getting worked up myself over the people whining. And then later, I knitted some more, sewed and tucked in ends and ta da! Hand socks!
They look a little small (and when you knit on a needle size one less than the pattern calls for that tends to happen). However, they look perfectly lovely on.
And a, o so fancy, model over the knee:
The pattern can be found here. There is also a non-circular pattern; however, I have found that I adore working in the round and I especially wanted to do this pattern in the round because I did not bring any socks with me to school. I was going to let you know what the yarn was that I used however, I seem to have currently misplaced the label and am too tired to go digging further through my knitting bag.
So I leave you today with a lesson re-inforced, a pair of hand socks, and snow all around.
I love the snow! When you come home for Christmas, maybe you could play outside with us. Love the PEANUTS background. Also love the snow! Miss you and love you SO much! Love the handsocks!
